A Gilded & Glamorous All Hallows’ Eve – Wedding Inspiration in Gold & Black

Good morning lovelies! Don’t worry it is definitely Friday, so I apologise for the absence of the usual Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons. It is simply that in celebration of today’s date, I thought an Inspiration Board was called for. Halloween would be such a fun time of the year to get married (just imagine the anniversary celebrations!) and an All Hallows’ Eve wedding doesn’t have to be ghoulish, oh no it can be filled with glitz and glamour!…..

Versatile, timeless and sophisticated black makes the perfect palette for a wedding (did you see those 20 beautiful black wedding dresses yesterday? Take a peek here if you missed them), especially at this time of year, as the nights draw in. So don’t shy away from this dark and moody colour for your big day, just glam it up with gold and brighten it with a pop of something pretty. Being Halloween I chose a rich orange for my Gilded & Glam wedding inspiration, but for any other time of year add romance with a hint of blush, make it fun with a hot fuschia pink or add rich ruby red for all out glamour.

The Wedding Dress

Such an elegantly simple colour palette means you can always, if you wish to, go bold with your wedding dress! I for one love a bride who ditches the traditional white gown in favour of something a little unconventional. I mean how fabulous would a black wedding dress be? Just take a look at this stunning number from Alexander McQueen…..

Or for something with a little more lace, as well as the ever so on trend fishtail skirt, don’t you just love this Sareh Nouri design?

Or if you can’t imagine wearing black, try a dress with a splash of gold, like this Marchesa wedding dress…..

It’s All In The Details

Lighting is important at any wedding but even more so for a Halloween wedding. Candles manage to walk the fine line between spooky and chic, whilst also creating the most romantic of atmospheres. And stood in mismatched candelabras or plain bottles, they make a rather budget friendly, but opulent looking, centrepiece.

Avoid the palette looking flat by adding your chosen highlight colour through your flowers. I love this unstructured bouquet by McKenzie Powell – the pops of black amongst the shades of orange make it perfect for a Halloween wedding, but it is far more gorgeous than ghoulish!

And doesn’t that addition of the long velvet ribbon make it look all the more lush? Such a simple touch, but so effective!

Happy Halloween lovelies!
