A Gingko Gold & Blue Autumn Wedding Inspiration Shoot

WENDY COOPER PHOTOGRAPHY

The most beautiful gingko tree in the grounds of an historic home was both the inspiration and setting for today’s lovely Autumn wedding inspiration shoot from Wendy Cooper Photography! Thistle blue and a splash of crimson was added to the gold of the fallen Gingko leaves to create a rich and warm colour palette perfect for an Autumn wedding…..

An Autumn Gingko Wedding Inspiration Shoot

And the beauty of this shoot doesn’t stop there, because there was a surprise proposal too! I will let Wendy Cooper, the lady behind the lens, fill you in on all of the details…..“Ginkgo is my favorite tree, and I couldn’t believe it when my friend John Hager bought an historic house with the biggest gingko tree I have ever seen in the front yard. Since blue is a great compliment to gold, I brought in the colors of thistle, blue heron and blue spruce, along with accent colors of blush and crimson.

I love the colors in this shoot, and I am so grateful to all of the talented artists who assisted with creating it: the simply gorgeous wedding dresses were by Nicole Fouché of Fouché Bridal. I was thrilled to be able to work with Jessica Harpole of Flourish Paper & Co., the talented calligrapher who designed the invitation set and menu. Emilie Stephens and John Hager of Annie Em’s at Home styled the table and the beautiful vignettes you see, and Stefanie Hodges executed my vision perfectly with the hair and makeup. The to-die-for, one-of-a-kind necklaces were designed by Claire Benes of Sloan + Themis, and they went perfectly with my color scheme. I want to thank my great photography assistant Rachel Kertz for being so helpful on the day. I also had a lot of help from my dear friend Monica McClain Duncan who brought me coffee that morning and provided the beautiful gold-rimmed candy jar, and she was nine months pregnant! The gorgeous models were so gracious with their time, and they were such fun to work with. A big thanks to Paige Foeste and Spencer Goodman, who also became engaged on the shoot! (Yes, Spencer popped the question – to Paige’s utter surprise!)”

Such a stunning setting for an Autumn wedding don’t you think? I just love those golden tones of the Gingko leaves, and I can completely understand why they are such a favourite of Wendy’s. Well a huge thankyou to her and everyone involved behind the scenes to bring this shoot to life. Oh and congratulations to the happy couple Paige & Spencer (who by the way, you may recognise from this sweet 1950s inspired wedding shoot)In case you are wondering, of course Wendy captured the all important moment, here’s a glimpse of the moment Spencer got down on one knee….
