Marsala & Pewter – Beach Wedding Inspiration in an Elegant Colour Palette

I have such a beautifully elegant inspiration board for you today – it could easily become one of my all time favourites! When we think of a beach wedding we all too quickly think of shades of blue, or nautical brights. Well, today I wanted to show you that the unconventional choice can make for a breathtaking alternative!…..

Elegant and chic, this colour palette is simple but guaranteed to wow! It’s all about the soft neutrals of the beach and Pantone’s deep rich colour of the year for 2015 Marsala, complimented by splashes of pewter and just a hint of blush. And inspired by that stunning Vivian Luk Atelier wedding dress, today’s board is brimming with rugged beach beauty. Make the most of your chosen venue, and save a few pennies, with some ceremony and tablescape decor from your surroundings – I’m thinking a flower adorned driftwood aisle as well as shells & stones in your table centrepieces. Whilst beach weddings inevitably have a relaxed air about them, this doesn’t mean you can’t add some opulence, and softness, to your celebration with  swathes of fabric on the backs of your ceremony chairs, silverware tied with silk ribbons in Marsala, and textured details that echo the waves like ruffles on your dress and your wedding cake.

If you’re worried about the weather, or simply don’t fancy a reception on the beach, choose a venue with a sea view and bring the outside in with your decor. And what about the Groom? Well, if you go with a blush gown, a traditional tux would look dreamy! Or if you go with the more traditional ivory, he can wear something a little more summery, like perhaps a dark grey or even a more casual sand. This wedding colour palette shows you don’t need blue skies and sunshine for a beautiful beach wedding!
