Summer & Spanish Moss – Elegant Wedding Inspiration in Dusky Greens

After last week’s bold and beautiful color palette in celebration of Independence Day, for today’s inspiration board I decided to go a little softer. A southern inspired take on a Summer wedding, complete with Spanish moss, in dusky, neutral shades of tan and green, with just a hint of blush. Understated and elegant, it is a timeless palette for the couple looking for something romantic yet not too feminine!

I just love those shades of green! Whilst I had Summer in mind when creating this inspiration board, this palette would of course be just as perfect for a Spring celebration, or even an early Autumn wedding – provided the days are still long and warm. Choose somewhere like an historic house or country estate and allow the warm light and expansive grounds of your venue be the basis for your decor.

Keep styling timeless and elegant, but with hints of vintage and texture aplenty – with such a simple color palette texture is key! So layer lace and velvet, with aged leathers, rustic wood and metallics. I love the vintage tray for the boutonnieres and the patina of the antique ringbox. And isn’t it amazing how a simple wedding cake can be transformed with some creative icing and fresh flowers?!

When it comes to florals you just can’t go wrong with lush white blooms and organic greenery. And if you’re spending the evening seated under Spanish moss hung trees, you can keep centerpieces to a minimum! But some romantic lighting, perhaps some hanging chandeliers and vintage candlesticks on tables, is a must.

So perfectly romantic don’t you think? If it’s not for you though, take a look back in Chic Vintage Brides’ archives, you will find lots more wedding colours and inspiration boards just perfect for Summer! Like this chic garden wedding inspiration in yellow & grey, and this elegant affair in the softest shades of blush, or this understated beauty in on trend neutrals. Oh and this ethereal beach wedding color palette is one of my all time favourites! And you won’t want to miss these 10 gorgeous Summer wedding colour ideas.
