Destination Wedding at the Iconic Windmills of Mykonos
VELVET LOVE PHOTGRAPHYToday’s exquisite editorial takes us to Greece and the famous windmills on Mykonos. Captured by Maria of Velvet Love at The Secret Owl, a fine art wedding photography workshop established and curated by Sotiris Tsakanikas (whose beautiful work you can see here on Chic Vintage Brides), these romantic images against such a delightfully historic backdrop are guaranteed to have you dreaming of a destination wedding!…..
Here’s a few words from The Secret Owl…. “The shoot is set at the iconic Windmills of Mykonos, a landmark of the island’s rich, virile past, a symbol of hope, growth, and the repeated circle of life. Delicate earth tones, and dusky soft pinks surrounding the snow-white, spherical shapes and Cycladic blue-colored doors, were the perfect natural setting.
Exuberant, Greek summer inspired florals are a mixture of peach, gold and burgundy tones. Lush verdant arrangements, delicate china, with rose gold and ivory accents allude to the luxurious wedding feasts of antiquity where gifts of earth and rare craftsmanship adorned the wedding table as a blessing to the nuptials.”
And I absolutely love how Eleni Balkouli from Chic & Stylish Weddings styled the bride & groom. With its delicate tulle epaulets, a diaphanous silk cutout, and open back, the wedding dress by Katia Delatola was ideal for the flyaway silhouette of a young bride. And it perfectly matched the groom’s understated yet oh so dapper tuxedo, hand-tailored by Teti Charitou.
Huge and heartfelt thankyous as always, to all the team of creatives who lent their talents to create this inspiration for you. But especially to photographer Maria of Velvet Love who captured it all so flawlessly. If you love her style of photography and would like to see more of her work do pop and take a peek at her website www.velvetlove.at, and be sure to find and follow her on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
And if this has indeed got you setting your heart on a destination wedding, you might like to take a look at this greenery filled beauty also from Greece, or this ethereal inspiration captured in a 17th century villa on the edge of Lake Como, and this snowy affair all the way from Russia is a MUST see. If the beach is more your idea of a destination wedding, this dreamy vision on the shores of Phuket is for you!
