‘Dark Romance’ – Stunning Moody Wedding Inspiration
A SEA OF LOVE
You may recognise the beautiful faces in today’s editorial from the Halloween inspiration board I shared earlier this week, I must confess to it having been in no small part inspired by today’s stunning styled shoot. Whilst the rich deep palette makes it more than perfect for this time of year, the creatives involved didn’t necessarily have Halloween in mind when they created this vision, instead looking for an unconventional alternative to the light and ethereal images we so often see in wedding inspiration shoots…. and I definitely think they found it!
Sarah from Keestone Events is here to tell us all about it…. ““Moody Romance” was the theme, with the idea that this couple had just eloped. Our goal was to create a deep, passionate feel with an edge. To balance out the darker tones, Brik Venue worked perfectly with its rugged brick walls and large windows, which brought in a lot of natural light. This really helped by adding dimension to the darker colors of the shoot.
To marry edge with romance, a color palette of deep burgundy, plum tones, accented with mixed metals was selected. Soft napkins, ribbon and a flowy magnolia and eucalyptus garland helped cut through the darker lines of gold mid century vases and matte black bowls.
Since this bride goes against the norm, a black lace gown from Free People worked perfectly, paired with minimal accessories and dark makeup. The lace details in the dress and the stationery from Seeds Paperie served as an inspiration for the cake. The details on the cake, created by Whisk Until Sweet, mimic the lace from the dress, and the texture from the stationery.
Oh and a fun fact: our couple was engaged at the time of the shoot and got married one week later!”
Isn’t it divine?? Dark and moody has never looked so good! A heartfelt thankyou to all of the wedding professionals and creatives who lent their time and talents to creating this vision of gorgeousness, and especially to Morgan + Blake of A Sea of Love for so perfectly capturing every detail.
