A Country Garden Inspired Bridal Bouquet

Good morning lovelies! After yesterday’s post all about alternatives to the traditional bouquet, today we’re looking at a beautiful classic bridal bouquet, inspired by an English country garden, created by the very lovely, and super talented, Toni from Magdalen Hill. For those of you who are new to Chic Vintage Brides, for whom this may be your first glimpse of Toni’s work, and I know there are lots of you after Valentines Day (congratulations and welcome!), you are in for quite the treat! In this series of Bouquet Recipe posts we break down some favourite bouquets (yours and ours) into blooms, bunches and stems; the aim being to help shed a little light on all things floral, as well as inspire and delight you. With the vision, talents and insights of Toni, we hope to ensure that, when you go to meet your florist for the first time, you know exactly what you love, what might be in season when you get married, what you can afford and what to ask for. Today’s country garden inspired bridal bouquet, was created in such a pretty palette of pastels and captured so perfectly by Natalie McNally, so be sure to have your pen, paper and pinning finger at the ready!

A little something from Toni about this gorgeous bouquet, before we dive head first into the shoot….”Loosely based on the shower (or trailing) style, this bouquet was created as a hand-tied to give a softer, natural garden feel; perfect for the country lodge setting of the wedding and for the bride who also wore a large floral hairpiece and an intricate floral necklace.

With blooms and foliage softly flowing downwards, a bouquet like this with an elongated form has a slimming effect and also helps to add the illusion of height. To enhance the hand coloured silk of the brides gown, soft pastel shades found in peach David Austin Roses, lemon double tulips and pale pink Sweet Viviane spray roses were combined with the softest silvery mint tones found in the succulents, lambs ear and gum. Wax bud, freesia and ranunculus were added for their relaxed country appearance and beautiful scent.”

Aaah how I love seeing these bouquets take shape. I love how Toni holds the bouquet, looking at it from every angle, visualising where the next stem should go, ensuring it is beautiful on all sides. And doesn’t she make it all look so easy?? Want to know what the flowers are? Me too!

Such a stunning bouquet, I just love the mix of flowers! And with its soft pastel shades it really is the perfect choice for a relaxed vintage loving bride.
