Divine Downton Abbey

What a wet & windy weekend….. but how well I spent it! I got to watch my latest vintage love, Downton Abbey, for the fourth time! Having already watched it twice in the UK, I couldn’t resist watching again when it was shown on Prime in New Zealand recently and when I spotted the DVD boxset for sale…. well I just simply had to buy it.
For anyone who hasn’t seen it (you MUST watch it!)
Downton Abbey is a British Edwardian period drama, set in the fictional stately home of the title, it follows the lives of its aristocratic occupants and their servants. Created by Oscar winning writer Julian Fellows (of art deco feast Gosford Park fame) the acting is amazing, script perfection and storyline tantalizing! The attention to detail is truly painstaking, but of course, what all followers of everything vintage will really love are the exquisite costumes……
Especially those of Lady Mary Crawley, played by the perfectly porcelain Michelle Dockery – so opulent, lavish and dramatic….
Oohh it’s just so elegant, I simply can not wait for the second series! (of which there are already teasers on the internet!!)
